The 12^th official Men’s Hockey World Cup 2010 has been announced by International Hockey Federation (FIH) to be held in India from 28^th February to 13^th March 2010. This will be the second Hockey World Cup to be held after 1982 when it was held in Mumbai.

The tournament will see 12 teams coming together at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium which has been revamped recently and will accommodate around 20000 spectators for the tournament. The Major Dhyan Chand Stadium is located just in the heart of New Delhi opposite the world famous and historic masterpiece of the country, India Gate.

England has, by the best effort ever, placed itself at the second position at the World Cup. This was when the tournament was held in the home country in 1986 in London and won the silver medal. England has acquired the sixth position for four times, seventh for two times and in 1982 it finished on the ninth position. England came fifth by beating Pakistan in the playoff at the last Hockey World Cup held in Monchengladbach.

Qualification

There were three qualifying tournaments which were held in 2009. The first tournament held from 31^st October to 8^th November 2009 in Lille, France was won by Pakistan. Pakistan defeated Japan in a hard played match. New Zealand who was the host won the second tournament from 7^th November to 15^th November 2009 held in Invercargill, New Zealand. The Hollywood reporters however, a different thought on their pair. They say that temperamentally and physically are quiet alike. Celebrities and her former boyfriend Ashton Kutcher have also posted their reactions on the sudden demise of this young and chirpy lady. The tree lighting ceremony at Trafalgar Square at the Trafalgar Square will take place on 3^rd December 2009. If You Don’t Know!!
If you don’t know much about Green Day, we have a guide for you here; Green Day is an American rock trio, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. The band received underground success with their album, Kerplunk in the year 1992, since then a number of music labels became interested in the band. They signed with Reprise eventually. Armstrong remains the head in writing and composing most of their album. Green Day songs have mainly been inspired from the band members personal life instances, much of their songs involve their love interests, relationships or parents. The songs also involves the problems of an adolescent mind like sexual orientations, boredom, panic attacks, masturbation and many more such stuff. Interestingly, their single ‘Longview’ had a signature bass tune, which was originated by Dirnt, while he was under the influence of LSD. However, he forgot most of the composition but parts of it were included in the song. After a number of albums and attempts, the band received its dues only in the year 2004, when their single American Idiot released. There is an interesting story behind this album, soon after they finished recording this album, the master tapes got stolen from the studio, later the band decided not to re-record the album. And that lead to the production of American Idiot, which broke many records and topped charts in a number of countries. The band never looked back after this, the received Grammy for their single “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”.

This radio station targets the age group of 15-29; it plays popular current music and broadcasts alternate music like Hip-hop or interviews, electronic dance. This time, the audiences will also get an opportunity to explore a variety of workshops which will let you know, what the reason behind the success of the artists is. The signature flags will add to the charm of the WOMAD festival. In this year’s Tower Festival, the WOMAD will present a world class musical experience with highly entertaining and mesmerizing performances. WOMAD has woven artists from all over the world. A series of vibrant and tremendous performances will be featured during the two days event. The opening of the festival will be marked by the Zimbabwean dancers and musicians on Sunday. These musicians are well known for their colourful and enthusiastic performances. A musical dialogue between Syriana and Abdullah Chhadeh which is a combination of western and eastern worlds will also be showcased in this part of the event. An outstanding blend of traditional Gambian and rock music from west will be performed by Juldeh Camara and Justin Adams. This vivacious and stupendous fusion will be the highlight of the show. Besides the above performances the last day of the festival offers a remarkable line up thus, it is a must to attend.
